Your Victim's Cell Phone: The Perfect Alibi?

http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748704025304575284501726547986.html?mod=WSJ_hps_sections_newyork#printMode<

What could be a more perfect alibi for a murder: show the victim was alive and sending text message...

With all the social interaction, how can this go wrong?

It needs to be to the perpetrator since anyone/thing else could be a fake.

The problem is: you need some other witness that the receiving phone is actually with the person creating the alibi and that isn’t where the crime occurred.

Several less than stellar individuals, as reviewed in the article, seemed to have had the phone in their pockets as they sent the text message..... same cell tower for sender/recipient.
=> Not a good alibi unless you want to show that you were there!
